Add your own Entry

What is GameDevTreff?

Local game development communities are awesome. They make it easy to meet people with similar goals and interests, to share knowledge, and to keep each other motivated.

However, we think they should be easier to find. This website is our attempt to help with that. It is focused on local meetups and events, rather than communities that exist exclusively online.

Add your own Entry

If you would like to add your own entry to the list, please write to test@notareallinkyet.com

Here is what we will need:

Guidelines

We maintain this website for fun. But in order for this to stay manageable, it can only be a jumping-off point for visitors. We cannot list all possible information for your event, because it would change too often for the website to stay up to date, and to stay useful.

Keep it simple

To make sure your entry stays useful over time (and doesn't have to change constantly), please do not list details such as exact meeting times or places in your description. Something like "once a month in Frankfurt" is fine, but the rest should be found when following your link.

Your description can be as long as you want, but it will be truncated in the list view.

A single link

Similarly, we only list a single link for your entry. That makes it less likely for your entry to end up with outdated data, and it makes it easier for visitors to know where to start. Your link should go to a place where they can easily learn what your community or event is all about. It could be your own website, a social media page, or even a Discord server invite.

Tags!

You can find the tags we currently use at the top of the list. If your event or community fits none of those, feel free to suggest a new one. We recommend not getting too specific, as that can make it easy for visitors to accidentally filter out entries they would have liked to see. If in doubt, just ask.

Updates and removal

If something does need to be updated, no worries. Just send us another email with the new information.

The same goes for removal. If you no longer want your entry to be listed, just send us an email. We will not list anyone who does not want to be here. We may add entries by ourselves, but will also contact the organizers in that case.

Offline only

On this website, we only list events and communities that regularly offer opportunities to meet in-person, at least once per year. They can of course have an online community as well, but they also need to have that local aspect. This is to ensure this website stays useful for that specific purpose, and to promote a type of community that can otherwise be hard to find online.
